Hunting and shooting has traditionally been passed down through family, and that’s what you get when you come to Bent Safety Courses:

Meet the Bents.

Hands-on skills require not just knowledge, but years of practical experience. Thankfully that’s exactly what you get at Bent Safety Courses.

  • Walter is a certified is a certified CFSC, CRFSC, and OHEP Instructor and Examiner located in Scarborough, Ontario. With over 25 years experience in teaching Canadian Firearms and Hunting Courses, and a lifetime of first-hand fishing, hunting, and target shooting experience, you can be certain you're getting the best training possible.


    Walter has experience hunting all types of large and small game (including deer, moose, bear, partridge and turkey). He is happy to share his life experience and offer advice to all of his students! Whether you're taking your first hunting trip, or you just need a firearms license for your career path, Walter provides a clear and concise teaching style that ensures you learn what you need to know.

  • Russell is also a certified CFSC, CRFSC, and OHEP Instructor. Russ has been hunting and target shooting from an early age with all types of firearms. As you can imagine, growing up with a father like Walter had its perks—from cold early mornings in a deer stand and rainy days spent fishing on a dockside, to sunny afternoons spent exploring the back woods of their Burks Falls cottage.

    Today Russ is an avid archer, bowhunter, rock-climber, and overall outdoor enthusiast. To support his passion, Russ received an Undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, a Masters of Science (M.Sc) in Cell & Systems Biology, and a Bachelor's of Education (all degrees from the University of Toronto), which help combine his love for the outdoors with his love for teaching. By drawing upon his extensive experience in both hunting and target shooting, Russ strives to share his passion with all types of students and learning styles.
